Peter Long has been flying since 1982 when I got my licence (sic) at Moorabin Airport, Melbourne, Australia. Moving to California in 1995, I got my FAA ASEL PPL in 1995, and went on to get Commercial licenses for both single engine and multi-engine aircraft. In 2004, I decided to leave my job at a high tech networking company in Silicon Valley and focused on flying. Why? Because I love flying and I love teaching.
I have a Commercial Airplane Single Engine and Multi Engine Land Instrument Pilot's license. I also have CFI (Certfied Flight Instructor), CFII (CFI-Instrument), and MEI (Multi Engine Instructor) ratings. I have ratings to fly and instruct in high performance, high altitude, complex, and tailwheel aircraft. As you might
guess, considering my background in high tech, I enjoy flying Technically
Advanced Aircraft (FAA term) with advanced avionics, engine monitoring, and
autopilots. I am also an aircraft owner: N206DW, a Cessna 206, and N596JR, a Citabria. I am usually available in the early mornings and late afternoons. I'm available to fly at night and on weekends. I charge $50.00 per hour for flight and ground instruction I charge for all the time I am giving a student instruction. Students pay as they go. I do not charge for canceled lessons due to bad weather, student illness, or aircraft maintenance issues. If you do need to cancel, please try to give at least 24 hours notice, more if possible. If you cancel with more then 24 hours notice please notify me via email. If you are canceling with less than 24 hours notice, especially on the day of the flight please call me, as I will not receive an email at work. No shows will be charged for the full time scheduled. You can call me at (408) 406 7370 anytime. There may be delayed response time if I am flying, or it is late at the time you call Or, you can email at plong@outback-aviation.com - I check it once or twice a day.
